Coping Tools

Kopa Birth® has prepared over a thousand couples to experience a positive, natural childbirth in a hospital. Now it’s your turn to learn and practice practical, evidence-based, tried-and-true coping tools that really work.

Each woman processes, responds to, and copes with the intensity of labor in her own individual way. Some gravitate towards an internal focus with deep relaxation and visualization. Others have more success with external coping skills like focal points, breathing techniques, and plentiful hands-on interaction. Many women find success with a combination of both internal and external coping tools. The challenge is that most women do not know their preferred coping style until labor is underway.

Kopa Birth® takes a unique approach to childbirth preparation by exposing couples to a wide variety of both internal AND external coping skills, with techniques to suit any circumstance. This enables a woman to discover and improve upon her personal coping style, equipping couples with a diverse set of tools and the power to be flexible during labor.

Your personal coping style will be enhanced as you learn:

  • Breathing Techniques similar to Lamaze®

  • Deep Relaxation similar to Hypno-style classes

  • Partner Preparation similar to the Bradley Method®
